Worship and Music

We gather every Sunday for worship rich in music, prayer, and the liturgy of the Episcopal tradition.

Serving in worship

Worship at St. John’s invites your participation. If you’re new to our tradition, you can follow along in our worship booklets. Scripture and prayer are important parts of our service, as is music.

Some of the ways parishioners serve in worship include

  • Lay Eucharistic ministers

  • Crucifers and Thurifers (carrying the cross or the incense during worship)

  • Readers

  • Ushers

  • Audio/visual operators

Altar guild supports our worship behind the scenes by preparing for Eucharist, setting out flowers, and keeping supplies ready.

Music ministries

Our volunteer choir, led by our organist and music director, Lucy, enriches our worship with anthems during part of the year. We also have many parishioners who use their musical gifts to offer solos or small ensembles. Anyone is welcome to join in our music ministries!
